| UGRAD
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) in Eurasia and Central Asia is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. The Global UGRAD program provides opportunities for full-time 1st-, 2nd-, 3rd-, and 4th-year undergraduate students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan to spend one academic year of non-degree study in a US university or community college. 4th-year students must have at least one term remaining at their home institutions upon completion of the program. Participants are selected through an open, merit-based competition. |

The Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and implemented by IREX, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization. TEA will provide secondary school teachers from Europe and Eurasia, East Asia and the Pacific, the Near East, South and Central Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Western Hemisphere with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States . |

The Ukrainian Media Partnership Program (UMPP) creates and fosters long-term relationships between selected U.S. media outlets and Ukrainian media outlets. UMPP works with independent print, radio and TV media sectors in Ukraine. UMPP was launched in 2002 and funded by the Public Affairs Section, US Embassy in Ukraine. |

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State and IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board) are pleased to announce the Muskie Mentor/Advisor Exchange (MAX) Project for alumni of the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program. The MAX program supports continued professional relationships between Muskie alumni and their American host advisors, supervisors, professors, and mentors. The MAX program will support a Muskie alumnus/a, working in collaboration with a host mentor or advisor, to create and implement a series of professional education workshops in the alumnus/a's home country. |

Peace Corps Volunteers Facilitate Alumni Book Club
On Saturday, October 27, UGRAD and Muskie alumni participated in alumni book club. This time the alumni discussed a very powerful and insightful book by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Half of a Yellow Sun. The novel was awarded the 2007 Orange Prize for Fiction.
